Strengthening collaboration between PLANETS and PARC
On 18 June 2025, Martin Himly (PLUS) delivered a 90-minute online session for members of the PARC project, bringing together around 25 participants involved in PARC Tasks 8.1.3 and 8.1.4.
The session showcased several key outcomes and ongoing activities from the PLANETS project, highlighting opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two initiatives in the field of Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD).
The presentation covered a broad range of topics, including:
- PLANETS case studies
- Scoping activities
- The Tier 1 approach
- PLANETS’ approach towards FAIR data and Digital Product Passport (DPP)
- The SSbD workflow developed within PLANETS
- The PLANETS wordbook
- Training activities, materials, and educational resources developed by the project
- Collaboration with ELIXIR-TeSS
- Announcement of the upcoming NSC workshop on SSbD scenarios
The exchange fostered valuable discussions on harmonising methodologies, sharing best practices, and strengthening synergies between European projects addressing SSbD implementation, FAIR data management, and stakeholder capacity building.
This session represents another important step in reinforcing collaboration between PLANETS and PARC and supporting a more connected European SSbD community.
An important follow-up of this collaboration is the community wide SSbD terminology harmonization via the PLANETS Wordbook and the training curriculum building in collaboration with the EIT Raw & Advanced Materials Academy and ELIXIR-TeSS.
