PLANETS joins expanded RES-22 Cluster for Training, C&D and SE activities

On 11 June 2026, representatives from PLANETS participated in the 7th RESILIECE-22 Cluster Working Group meeting dedicated to Training, Dissemination, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement. The meeting brought together 19 participants from projects funded under the RES-22, RES-23 and RES-24 calls, with the objective of strengthening collaboration, fostering synergies, avoiding duplication of efforts across related initiatives, as well as benefiting from larger and divers stakeholder audiences.

The meeting marked an important step towards expanding the existing RES-22 cluster activities to include projects from the newer RES-24 call, creating a broader network of projects working on Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD), advanced materials and chemical safety.

During the tour the table and further discussion participating projects presented their projects, their ongoing and upcoming activities. PLANETS was represented by Sébastien Noel (CEA), deputy Coordinator, Beatriz Alfaro (BNN), responsible for Communication, Dissemination and Stakeholder Engagement activities, and Cécile Philippot (CEA), leading the SSbD activities.

A central topic of discussion was the identification of opportunities for joint activities across projects, including co-organised events, shared training materials, stakeholder outreach actions and dissemination campaigns. Participants agreed on the value of engaging broader and more diverse stakeholder communities beyond individual project networks and sister clusters.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the participating projects to work together towards common goals, strengthening the impact of European research and innovation efforts in the field of chemicals, advanced materials and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design approaches.

PLANETS looks forward to continuing these collaborative discussions and contributing to future joint activities that enhance knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement and the uptake of project results across Europe.

PLANETS @ 3rd Collab4Resilience (C4R) meeting

On 11th May 2026, PLANETS partners (Beatriz Alfaro, BNN) part in the third networking workshop of the Collab4Resilience (C4R) initiative, organised by the CheMatSustain communication team. The initiative brings together projects working on safe and sustainable chemicals and nanomaterials, with the goal of strengthening collaboration and amplifying the impact of communication and dissemination activities across the community.

The workshop gathered 25 participants, including both long-standing members and new contributors, creating a dynamic and engaging environment for exchange. PLANETS colleagues actively participated in the discussions, contributing to reflections on the key highlights and achievements since the previous meeting. The session highlighted the significant progress made across the network, as well as several important milestones reached by participating projects.

A central focus of the workshop was on identifying new opportunities for collaboration. Participants explored upcoming joint actions, including events, publications, and coordinated communication activities designed to maximise outreach and visibility. These exchanges provided valuable insights into how projects like PLANETS can further align efforts with other initiatives in the field and contribute to a stronger, more connected research and innovation landscape.

PLANETS colleagues look forward to building on these discussions and contributing to future joint activities that support the transition towards safe and sustainable chemicals and materials.

A big thank you to the CheMatSustain team for organising this productive exchange, and to all participants for their valuable contributions.

The agenda of the meeting is avalable here.

PLANETS @ 2nd Collab4Resilience (C&R) meeting

On 25 November 2025, the Collab4Resilience (C4R) network met for its second online networking workshop. 17 participants representing 9 EU-funded projects gather to further build on the KOM from April 2025, and aiming to strengthen collaboration between projects and enhance their visibility and outreach activities.

The meeting was opened by the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, coordinator of the CheMatSustain project and leader of the initiative. They provided a brief overview of the network’s progress to date and recent developments within CheMatSustain. This was followed by a short presentation from the University of Bologna introducing the CheMatSustain Facility, the project’s key output, launched in 2025.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the “What We’re Proud Of” round, during which each project highlighted recent developments and achievements. Afterthat, we dive into a more interactive session with a digital mural to gather ideas for future communication activities—ranging from social media initiatives to joint events—as well as a knowledge-sharing activity to identify tangible collaboration opportunities.

The workshop concluded with a forward-looking discussion on plans for 2026, setting out practical next steps to strengthen communication, share resources, and foster mutual support.

Overall, the event demonstrated strong interest in further developing the community.

Strengthening collaboration between PLANETS and PARC

On 18 June 2025, Martin Himly (PLUS) delivered a 90-minute online session for members of the PARC project, bringing together around 25 participants involved in PARC Tasks 8.1.3 and 8.1.4.

The session showcased several key outcomes and ongoing activities from the PLANETS project, highlighting opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two initiatives in the field of Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD).

The presentation covered a broad range of topics, including:

  • PLANETS case studies
  • Scoping activities
  • The Tier 1 approach
  • PLANETS’ approach towards FAIR data and Digital Product Passport (DPP)
  • The SSbD workflow developed within PLANETS
  • The PLANETS wordbook
  • Training activities, materials, and educational resources developed by the project
  • Collaboration with ELIXIR-TeSS
  • Announcement of the upcoming NSC workshop on SSbD scenarios

The exchange fostered valuable discussions on harmonising methodologies, sharing best practices, and strengthening synergies between European projects addressing SSbD implementation, FAIR data management, and stakeholder capacity building.

This session represents another important step in reinforcing collaboration between PLANETS and PARC and supporting a more connected European SSbD community.

An important follow-up of this collaboration is the community wide SSbD terminology harmonization via the PLANETS Wordbook and the training curriculum building in collaboration with the EIT Raw & Advanced Materials Academy and ELIXIR-TeSS.
